A Portrait Of Benjamin

The more time goes by, the pickier I seem to become with what I want to paint. Something really has to stand out before I even consider painting it. But every so often, I'll get the rare moment where I stumble across something that I feel works perfectly. Sometimes I may interpret it my own way or, in this case, going for a sort of "quick, rough, hyperrealistic study... sketch" that is more or less close to what the image may look like, but sort of..  rough I suppose. It's nice to sometimes just browse images on instagram when I'm not feeling particularly original or inspired with my own work. It's good practise, and it's a lot of fun. The original photograph used as reference is of, and taken by, Benjamin Hardman, check him out on Instagram, he's a super talented photographer based in Iceland.
